It's the same, it's a portfolio that I use as a content writer, but written in Indonesian. All right, let's go to the topic. The topic that I will discuss is about Osu Games! What is Osu!? Come on, let's talk about this game first.
What is Osu!?
Of the many game genres that exist today, the 'Rhythm' genre game is one genre that is very popular with music lovers. Because, they can play and listen to music while playing this genre of games.
Speaking of rhythm games, Osu! is one of the games that can be said to be very famous and also legendary. The game was first launched on September 16th, 2007 by Dean 'peppy' Herbert.
Originally, osu! itself only existed as an indie rhythm game before the gamers community played and made this game grow. Because the players create a map (level) with new music or beatmap.
Osu! itself comes in several playable modes such as Osu! Standard, Osu! Taiko, Osu! Catch the Beat, and Osu! Mania. Each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, osu mode! Standard and osu! Mania is the one who has a lot of fans.
To play the game, you can download it via this site: Download Osu! for free. After that, you need to install, create an account and you're done.
Talking about various modes, I will provide a tutorial about this game so that you are proficient and can play it. Come on, let's discuss!
For an explanation of the mode of how to play, I will start in the order described earlier.
How to Play Osu! Standard
First there is Osu! Standard. The mode that was first released in the game. Osu! Standard has a mode that is circular in shape and has numbers in it. In this mode, players can use 3 devices:
- Can use mouse,
- Can use a pen tablet and,
- Can use touchpad.
Oh yes, before starting make sure you set the sensitivity of the mouse/pen tablet used in the settings menu so that the game is comfortable.
Alright, after setting it according to your convenience, you click the play menu and a list of songs will appear (at first it will be a bit, and you need to download the beatmap). Each beatmap/song has a different level of difficulty.
Your task in this mode is simply to move the cursor in the direction of the circle that appears. Each circle appears, hover over the circle and don't forget to press the Z/X button (default setting) to click it, besides that you have to follow the rhythm of the song and follow the sequence of numbers from 1 onwards.
There is a health bar on the top left, and make sure that the bar is full, otherwise the game will end. It sounds difficult, but you can start from the easier levels first. Enjoy!!
Generally, players usually use a pen tablet to play this mode, the recommended pen tablet used is Wacom and Huion which are famous for their cheap prices.
How to Play Osu! Taiko
The second mode, namely is Osu! Taiko. As the name implies, Taiko means Drum. In this mode, you only press the Z/X/V/B button (default setting), when the red/blue circle is right on the gray circle.
Each button has a different function Z/X (Blue Color), V/B (Red Color). You can also change this default configuration to your liking on the main screen options setting.
Just like the previous mode, follow the rhythm / beat of the song that sounds easy, has different levels of difficulty and also has a health bar on the top left. Also make sure the health bar is always full, otherwise the game will be over. Enjoy!!
How to Play Osu! Catch the Beat
Next we go to Osu! Catch The Beat mode. In this mode, you only need to move the arrow keys right and left, just follow the rhythm of certain music. Also pay attention to the falling fruit, follow where the fruit falls, point the arrow keys in the direction the fruit falls. Use the shift key to slide or shift faster.
Each beatmap/music has a different level of difficulty. And always remember your health bar should not be empty or the game will be over.
How to Play Osu! Mania
The last mode in this game. That is Osu! Mania mode. This is my favorite mode. This mode seems to be issued at the end of the session. This mode is kind of like guitar hero but play it on PC. The tool used is the keyboard.
There are 2 commonly used keyboards, Mechanical Keyboard and Rubber Dome Keyboard. However, generally this game player uses a Mechanical Keyboard due to its durability.
In this mode, you can choose the difficulty level of the stars or the number of keys (keys count). Starting from 1 keys to 10 keys. Keys here means fingers. Generally, people play this mode using 4 keys (D F J K) and 7 keys (S D F space J K L), but you can change the settings according to your taste.
How to play it is quite easy, you just need to press the button according to the pattern that goes down. Each pattern that you press will produce a different score, ranging from 300 rainbow (perfect), 300 yellow, 200 green, 100 blue, 50 gray and 0 miss. Just as usual, there is a health bar on the right, if it runs out then the game will end.
Well, finally I've written about how to play the game osu!. But, what if this game is very easy for you? Relax, this game provides several mods during the game such as Hardrock, Hidden, Fade In, Flashlight and Double Time/Nightcore.
If you use Hard Rock mod in osu! Standard, osu! Catch the Beat and osu! Taiko, your score will be accumulated 2.5x, while if you use Hidden/Fade In it will be accumulated 1.5x, if you use flashlight mod it will be accumulated 2.8x and if you use double time/nightcore mod then the score will be accumulated 3x.
Using mods will have no effect on osu mode! Mania, which if you use a mod in this mode, the score will remain the same (maximum score of 1,000,000) if everything is perfect.
Tips for Playing Osu! for Beginners
Well, a few tips for me if you guys want to start this game.
